Cookie Cutter Fridge Magnets

I have been looking at all the small pieces of Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper I have left from making other projects and wondering what to use them for. It finally came to me - Make Fridge Magnets!

These are just so cute! They are not toys, and that should be made clear to anyone who uses them, but they are still just so cute that I can see them taking up residence on our fridge before long. They are also very easy to make, as you will see in the video. You will need some thin magnetic sheets, the type ou can use for storing your Framelits and Thinlits ; you can also get self adhesive sheets, which would save a step. If you don't have and cannot get magnetic sheets, then you can still make these, but use them as Christmas Card Hangers, just clip them to some ribbon and you are away.

If you want any of the products I used to make these, please go to my online shop, which is open 24/7. Remember to use the Hostess Code, which is on the right of the full version of this page.

If you would like to join our team of Stable Hands, then follow the link at the top of this page. This will give you a heavily discounted Starter Kit, full of things that You chose, AND will give you early access to items in the next Seasonal Catalogue. Now that is something to think about!!

Don't Forget the Current Online Offers and a new project

I am busy preparing for a Craft Fair I am at next weekend at the Blue Cross Rehoming Centre, Lewknor, Bucks. Do come along, it looks like it will be a fun event and is for such a good cause. The details of the Christmas Cracker are HERE, it runs from 11 until 4 on Saturday 3 December.

One of the items I am making for the event is a milk carton style treat box and I thought you might like to see how this is made. I also thought it would be an ideal project to make using some of the products that are currently on offer at my online shop.

I have told you about the Online Extravaganza a few times before, but have not shown you any projects specifically made with products from it, so time to rectify that. I hope you enjoy the video.

Remember that the Online Extravaganza is running until Monday, 28th November, so don't miss out on all the great deals, including some items up to 40% off; also remember the Flash Sale on Monday with extra items on offer. Whilst these are great offers, remember that the 'Stitched from the Heart' offer is running until 30th November with some stamp sets 25% off, so all in all a perfect time to stock up for you and your crafty friends. So pop on over to my shop now and fill that bag with Lots of Lovely Things!

Measurements:

The project uses a square of card that is 6 x 6 inches, or 15.2 x 15.2cm, although any square of Designer Series Paper would work.

Tea Bag Gift Box

Don't you just love cute little boxes that turn something 'everyday' into a real treat for someone?

This is the basis for the gift sets I am putting together for a friend of mine. She and a few friends exchange 'bits of nonsense' each Christmas and she is running out of ideas so asked if I could help by putting lots of little bits together in a larger Gift Box. So the challenge was issued and the gauntlet thrown down and this is the second item I have put together for her.

I really like Fruit Teas, well some of them, but they have to be a definite flavour and steeped for a very long time, preferably in an insulated mug with the bag left in until the last sip. So I thought it would be fun to box up a few of these using paper that matches the wrapper of the bag. The first one I made was to go with Taylors 'Sweet Rhubarb', so an almost exact match to Sweet Sugarplum, and the second was 'Spiced Apple'. I did cheat slightly with this as the nearest match was probably Cajun Craze, but I wanted to use Christmas Designer Series Paper, so went with Cherry Cobbler instead; I think it works, but what do you think?

I hope you enjoy the video that goes with this.

Remember that the Online Extravaganza is running until Monday, 28th November, so don't miss out on all the great deals, including some items up to 40% off. There are even some Christmas items discounted. So pop on over to my shop now and fill that bag with Lots of Lovely Things!

Double Yankee Tealight Box

This pretty little box is one of a number of items I am putting together for a friend of mine who wants to gift lots of little items to some friends of hers. They do this every year and this year I have been asked to help with some of the items. This is the first item I am including in the gift set. I was specifically asked to include some Yankee Candle Tealights, so this is what I came up with.

It is a sweet little box, and is a cube, so it measures 1-5/8" x 1-5/8" or 4.2cm x4.2cm. If you are looking for ideas for colleague or teacher gifts, this would be perfect and you could match the supplies to the colour of your candles, as I did here.

I hope you like it and that you will give it a go.

Cardstock base - 7 x 5-3/8" (17.8cm x 13.7cm)

Score on the long side at 1-5/8, 3-1/4, 4-7/8 and 6-1/2" (4.2, 8.4, 12.6 and 16.8cm)

Score on the short side at 1-5/8, 3-1/4 and 4-7/8 (4.2, 8.4 and 12.6cm)

Panels - 5 Squares 1-1/2 x 1-1/2" (3.8 x3.8cm)

It's Almost Online Extravaganza Time!

As the festive season approaches, it is time to start thinking about Christmas Cards and Gifts, and we hope to be able to help with that and help you save money in the process.

Online Extravaganza only happens once a year so be sure to make the most of it. For one week only, 21-28 November, you can save up to 40% on select products. To sweeten the deals, we will be having 24-hour sales on the first and last day of the promotion, featuring special products available for that day only. You can even get a sneak peek AND save on products that will be on the future autumn/winter catalogue retiring list. You won’t want anyone to miss out on this great opportunity to stock up and save!

Between 21 and 28 November we have selected items at up to 40% off, plus on 21 and 28 November we have additional items available for 24 hours only! Many of the items in the 24 hour sales are only available as a Bundle, so remember to use the Bundle Item number in order to benefit from the discounts. Also, as some of the items are for stamp sets, which may be available in different languages and mount types, remember to use the correct code. There is no minimum order amount in order to benefit from these discounts, but you can include additional items from the current catalogues at the same time.

Note: While some retiring autumn/winter products may be discounted during the retiring list promotion in December, no discounts will be greater than the discounts being offered during Online Extravaganza. So take advantage of these discounts while they are available.

Video and News about the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies

I have a couple of pieces of general Admin for you and then some exciting news.

So the first piece of Admin for you is to let you know that the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (145372) have been flying off the shelves much faster than anyone imagined, which means that some additional sets have been ordered, but these too are selling very fast, so these are now on Backorder and will remain so until 21 November 2016 after which it will show as not currently available and you will be able to ask for notification to be sent to you when they become available again. We do not know when, after 21 November, this is likely to be, other than to say that we do know that these are an item that will be available in the 2017-18 Annual Catalogue, which will go live to customers on 1 June 2017.

The second piece of Admin is that you will remember that alongside the early peek at these Framelits, you are able to purchase selected stamp sets at 25% off until 30 November 2016; this part of the promotion is not effected by the Framelits being on Backorder, so you will still be able to make the most of that discount.

Now for the exciting news. As I am now working at Old Stables Crafts full time, I have take the plunge and am starting to record YouTube videos, the first of which is here:

I hope to have some tutorial videos coming out to you all very soon, so do subscribe to my channel to make sure you don't miss out.

Please remember that if you need any products my online store is open 24/7, just follow the link. If you would like to have a copy of the Annual or Autumn Winter Catalogues (or both) just drop me an email at liz.yuille@artlover.com and I will get one sent out to you.

Baby It's Cold Outside

It has been a busy few weeks here at the Old Stables Crafts HQ, so I have been a little lax in keeping you all informed, for which I must apologies. I am sure, when I bring you all up to speed you will understand why, so keep an eye on the updates here.

Today is just a quick update with a card I have just made for one of our Team Challenges, and this time the theme is 'Baby It's Cold Outside'. This is my first entry, and depending on how today and tomorrow go, there may be another one or two.

If you would like to replicate this card, then you will find the list of supplies below.

Remember you are always welcome to order any supplies you need through my online shop, which is open 24/7, just follow the link. If your order is over £20 before P&P, but under £150, if you use the Hostess Code you will receive free goodies from me. If your order is over £150 you will also receive free goodies, but they will be products of your choice, one of which could be the Hostess Stamp Set I used for this project.

25% Off Stamps AND New Framelet Dies - What's Not to Love?!

I have some very exciting news for you.

I would like to think that this is Stampin' Up! giving me a Birthday Present, but I think this may not be their full motivation. But, from 1-30 November, if can buy the all new Stitched Shapes Framelits (#145372) which will then not be available until the new annual Catalogue is released in the middle of 2017. AND you can buy any/all of selected stamp sets at 25% off, and all just in time to finish your Christmas Crafting.

The new Stitched Shapes Framelits mean that in one pass of the Big Shot you can cut the shape AND finish the edge with a fine stitched detail. This means that you could actually save in the long run as you will get that layered look we all love, with only one layer of cardstock. The details of the included stamp sets and discounted prices are here:
